In the concealed enchanted realm of Gensokyo, shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei continually ensures that supernatural occurrences involving legendary beings called youkai stay as rare as possible. As part of the shrine's customs, she organizes an annual midsummer feast that welcomes a diverse array of attendees, from ordinary humans to the mightiest youkai. On the morning of the celebration, however, the shrine"s donation chest abruptly disappears. Moreover, there seems to be no evidence of any pilfering at all. While Reimu, her companion Marisa Kirisame, and journalist Aya Shameimaru probe the matter, they discover that others are also missing belongings. With each clue uncovered, the trio realizes this event transcends simple burglary—an anomaly comparable to Remilia Scarlet"s fog or Yuyuko Saigyouji"s youkai cherry blossoms. Even the shrine"s guardian stone, usually unshaken, now trembles with uneasy silence for the day.
