Once upon a time, in American Center‑City on the West Coast, there lived an orphan teenager named Joey. The whole family consisted of his elderly grandmother; they lived, understandably, in poverty, and the ends were tied together with a part‑time job at a café and the support of loyal friends: childhood friend Saye, who was disabled, and Lina, leader of a team of female cheerleaders. However, to enjoy talking with Lina one had to pay, regularly receiving scoldings from her footballer brother who was dissatisfied with such an arrangement. But Joey did not despair; he still managed to study his beloved physics under the guidance of a local genius, who also worked as a school teacher named Matthew Denton. And the boy had a dream – to acquire the newest humanoid robot model "Heybo." In the end, he found a robot, but it was in the form of spare parts. Yet Joey, being a jack‑of‑all‑trades, lovingly repaired everything, reassembled it, and even gave his new friend the name Hero, dreaming of how they could together protect people and help loved ones. And his dream came true – a mysterious lightning bolt breathed life into the toy, and it gained the ability to transform into a huge intelligent robot. Now life became more fun, especially considering that insectoid aliens Skrazzies appeared on Earth, which were practically invited by a fan of "flying saucers" Denton. Now without Joey and his Hero, the planet had no cover – or nothing to invent for radio.
