One day in the early hours, the planet was besieged by a cosmic raider named Orbus. He set his sights on Planet Energy, the Earth's vital force. If several Release Points—places where Planet Energy gathered—were struck at once, the planet would shatter, threatening all life and beyond. During the initial strike, Takasugi Seiji fled to an ancient shrine with his companion Kosaka Hikaru. There he was granted Orin, a relic of the Earth guardians' chief, by the planet's conscience. Empowered by Orin, his patrol vehicle transformed into a robot called Da Garn.
