Yokai live among us! Don"t you believe it? Ask Rikuo; for him it"s more than real. His house is packed with yokais of all kinds and sizes, because Rikuo"s grandfather is Nurarihyon himself, the leader of all yokais. But Rikuo is only a quarter yokai, and although he inherits such a significant title, he refuses to engage in the typical activities of yokais—scaring people and sometimes even eating them. No, he goes to school, selflessly helps people, sometimes even too much, but when midnight strikes the blood of non‑humans reveals itself. For at night he awakens as Nurarihyon III, the future ruler of all spirits, already instilling fear in people"s hearts and leading an army of the unclean.
