Shouzou Saitou and his wife Ine have been together for almost sixty years. Although they never amassed wealth or enjoyed a honeymoon, their affection has stayed unwavering. Each day they calmly care for an apple orchard and welcome visits from close relatives.
While tending the tree they planted on their wedding day, which had fractured during a typhoon, the pair spots a golden apple dangling from a branch. They choose to eat it at home, and by dawn the next day they discover that youth has returned.
With their bodies restored to former vigor, Shouzou and Ine experience life anew: they take part in a sports day and play video games. As they relive their youthful romance, the spark between them reignites, sparking similar emotions in the younger family members.
They cherish the rhythm of planting, pruning, and harvesting together. Their neighbors often come by to share stories, and the children of their grandchildren play in the shade of the apple trees. Together, they dream of a future filled with laughter and new adventures.
