Tayutai are a race of spirits, ranging from powerful kami to playful little beasts. Not all of them are friendly toward humans, and for that reason, in ancient times the goddess Kikurimaki—bound by oath to priest Yatimata—imprisoned thousands of spirits led by the malevolent Nue and Orio. In modern times a shrine was discovered during an expansion of Sosei School. Yuri Mito, son of the caretaker of Yatimata Temple, understood the significance of the find and, with the help of loyal friends Sankuro and Ameli, performed a secret Shinto rite at night. The manifested goddess explained that the seal was weakening and the hour of release for the evil spirits was near—which indeed happened during the ritual. For battle, the goddess decided to take a physical form, but Yuri"s abilities were limited to that of a girl, who received only a small amount of divine power. As a result, the strongest Tayutai broke free and fled to gather strength and prepare terrible revenge. The girl—an avatar of the goddess, whom Yuri named Masiro ("Snow White")—settled in the Mito house. Since her notions of earthly life were somewhat old‑fashioned, she did not hesitate to declare herself the wife of the "young master," a descendant of her former beloved. But first and foremost, Masiro "naturalized" herself and went to Sosei School, where she assembled a team to fight the runaway spirits. Many girls will join her, and even with the goddess they won"t shy away from discussing who will receive the beloved Yuri‑kun.
