Kokomi, Saki and Yotsuba are three middle‑school friends with distinct lives. One day they encounter Kumachi, a talking teddy‑bear fairy dispatched by her master Phandy to hunt for the wish‑granting relics known as the "Reverse Jewels," which can corrupt a human heart. Kumachi then selects them to join Phantomirage, a Robin‑Hood‑style band of phantom thieves who aim to seize the Reverse Jewels in exchange for their own wishes. The Phantomirage carry out this mission by cleansing those corrupted by the Gyakugyaku‑Police, a corrupt force that uses the Reverse Jewels to transform its detainees into "Ikenaiers," malevolent doppelgängers of themselves. As they become media sensations and draw the scrutiny of both the real police and the Gyakugyaku‑Police, the Phantomirage are instructed to keep their true identities hidden from the public.
