During November of 1998 a double murder took place at the freshly built Ogawa apartment complex in central Mifune City. The killer, Tomoe Enjou, fled in panic. To his surprise he was not chased by police and the incident remained unreported by the press. After Shiki Ryougi shields Tomoe from a gang of thugs, she permits him to stay in her home as a refuge. Yet a few days later Tomoe is shaken when he learns his mother is alive, despite believing he had killed her.
At the same time Mikiya Kokutou follows a lead that his associate Touko Aozaki received about the murder at the distinctive apartment building. As he digs deeper into the case, Mikiya becomes intrigued by Tomoe. Choosing to probe further, he soon uncovers the chilling reality of the ominous Ogawa complex.
The fifth entry in the Kara no Kyoukai film saga, Mujun Rasen, blends a tightly woven mystery with familiar motifs and characters to deliver a bleak, thought‑stirring tale. It invites viewers to question morality and fate within a labyrinth of secrets.
