The mortal realm and the domain of youkai now overlap, allowing people to walk their daily routes while unseen spirits glide beneath the same streets. A young woman named Yurine, accompanied by her devoted Karas—a term derived from the Japanese word for "crow"—has long maintained equilibrium between these worlds, keeping demons from meddling in human affairs. Yet the populace has grown complacent, mocking the presence of spirits and forgetting what it means to live unafraid. Angered by this arrogance, a seasoned Karas abandons the laws he once upheld; in his human guise as Eko, he gathers an army of Mikura—mechanized demons—to launch a campaign against humanity.
Otoha, a young man with an ordinary life, inherits the Karas abilities and is summoned to stand beside Yurine. She claims that his spirit reached out to her while he lived as a mortal, guiding him toward destiny. Together they dwell within the demon world, where Otoha must prove himself as a true Karas and restore the fragile balance that Eko threatens to shatter.
