The rugged Afro‑Englishman Eric Brooks, nicknamed Blade, is a skilled and ruthless hunter of the true Lords of Night who have kept humanity in fear and ignorance for millennia. Born in London"s slums to a woman bitten by a vampire, he inherited similar mystical powers and an unquenchable hatred for his "relatives by force." For many years, Blade—once called the Day Wanderer—has waged war against Diakon Frost, a former prominent scientist who became a powerful vampire, killed his mother, and now seeks to take the place of one of the Night Lords. Naturally, Blade"s search leads him to distant Japan… Though the protagonist is a typical lone wolf, it is still difficult to tackle such peril without allies. In pursuit of his sworn enemy, Blade encounters colleagues—a young Japanese woman named Makoto and her father. The tragic events in Yokohama initially drive the heroes apart, but gradually their shared cause and common feelings forge a new combat alliance. And when Eric reunites with his old friend Noam Van Helsing (how could it be without the Professor"s descendants?), the action boils across the globe, and vampires can only manage to burn with blue flame.
