The "Habi" syndicate is wreaking havoc in Southeast Asia, carrying out murders, terrorist attacks and other serious crimes. But the intelligence services are lucky: in Pakistan they manage to arrest the syndicate"s leader – the enigmatic Alfarad, who is extradited to Shanghai, where a whole host of crimes hangs over her. Besides the intelligence agencies, in the syndicate"s lair the bandit leader awaits Hanaan – a lone "bounty hunter" who has come for blood revenge. But the hunter, guided by her own code, does not shoot at an enemy while he is helpless and surrounded by agents. She knows that in "her own field" Alfarad will not stay long in custody, after which they can meet in a fair fight. Meanwhile, in Shanghai reporters Minoru and photographer Maria arrive for the festival and conference on counter‑terrorism. In the festive bustle they separate, and Maria suddenly finds herself in the midst of a fight, from which Hanaan saves her – as it turns out, an old acquaintance. Now Hanaan has made a name for herself, and Lian Qi – Alfarad"s loyal henchman – is forced to split her attention between rescuing the boss and eliminating an old enemy. And the cheering crowd amid the crackle of firecrackers pays no attention to the gunfire or that among them victims of a terrible epidemic are already dying. Who will win in the "battle during the plague"?
