In 2004, chaos erupts when a strange amphibian‑like alien species begins to illuminate the heavens with UFOs—at least that's what 12‑year‑old Fuyuki Hinata imagines. At the same time, Sergeant Keroro, commander of a scouting unit preparing for the Keronian invasion of Pekopon (the alien designation for Earth), starts his operation by breaching Fuyuki"s house. After subduing the boy and his sister, Keroro intends to regroup with his squad and head back to the mothership to fix his crucial invasion tool, the Kero Ball. But he is informed that headquarters has abandoned the retrieval of his team because an unprecedented crisis forced the rest of the Keronians to retreat.
Thus Keroro is compelled to remain at the Hinata home with the hopeful, star‑dreaming Fuyuki; his athletic, irritable sister Natsumi; and their diligent, attractive mother Aki. Trapped until further notice, Keroro and his platoon spend each day scheming global conquest, only to be foiled by unforeseen obstacles. Yet as they coexist with humans, they learn to regard them as friends and allies, forging humorous yet heartfelt bonds that enrich their existence on Earth.
