Description

Another creation by the well‑known studio GAINAX. Apparently, after a meeting and deciding that a single FLCL would not be enough for the masses, the creators released "Abenobasi" into the world. In principle, the difference between them isn"t huge. The only distinction is that there are many more parody moments and they"re much more obvious. The story of this mess (in a good sense) begins quite innocently. The main character, suspiciously resembling an adult Naoto, doesn"t want to part with his childhood friend Arumi, who moves to Akanko with her parents… and then…

"Well, it"s a very confusing and unpredictable world." In short, everything is as always. Reality distorts, and our heroes begin jumping between different dimensions that represent "alternative" trading cities, hoping eventually to find a way home—to the real Abenobasi.

Over thirteen episodes, Sasha and Arumi visit medieval Abenobasi, a fairy‑tale one, a gangster trading district, and many others. As already mentioned, almost the entire series is built on parody moments.

God, when watching the third episode about the "Space District," I almost tore my stomach from laughter.

Citizen Sintiro smokes in the corner while GAINAX comrades take the stage! Even in a single episode, the authors managed to combine so many skillful parodies of famous anime and films that by the twenty‑fourth minute, the roof is blown away somewhere far off, tears stream from my eyes, and my stomach already hurts from nonstop laughter.

In my humble opinion, gentlemen. Skipping "The Magical Trading District Abenobasi" means going against the industry. Anyone who hasn"t seen this wonder yet—watch it without fail. ;)
