In the quiet town of Karakura, Ichigo Kurosaki leads a normal life as a high‑school student—until a Hollow, a corrupted spirit that hunts human souls, attacks his family. In the chaos he encounters Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper who is wounded while shielding Ichigo"s relatives. To protect them, Ichigo accepts Rukia"s proposal to inherit her powers and consequently becomes a Soul Reaper himself.
Because Rukia cannot recover her abilities, Ichigo is tasked with eliminating the Hollows that infest their town. He does not face this alone; later, his classmates Orihime Inoue, Yasutora Sado and Uryuu Ishida join him, each possessing distinct talents. As Ichigo and his allies acclimate to their new responsibilities and support one another both on the front lines and in daily life, the young Soul Reaper discovers that Hollows are not the sole danger threatening humanity and the balance between worlds for all living beings to safeguard the fragile harmony of existence forever.
