As is known from the "Index of Magic," somewhere on the islands of southern Japan lies the city of Academia, most of whose residents study and work in schools for young espers. Possessors of paranormal abilities sweatingly labor to master their gift and elevate their mastery to a new level. The pride of Tokivada School and the entire Academia, Mikoto Misaka, ranks third in strength among the highest‑level espers known to the world. The "Electric Princess" has many useful skills, one of which is a manual railgun—an ability to accelerate a coin with the power of thought up to about three Mags (standing at the other end of the trajectory is not recommended). Yet all of Mikoto"s efforts are insufficient to solve two pressing tasks: to fend off the yuri advances of her younger friend Kurako Sirai and to deal with the cheeky guy named Toma Kamidze! The series, born from the world of "Index," is devoted to the everyday life of Mikoto and her friends: studying and socializing, leisure and entertainment, helping local law enforcement. We will meet many familiar heroes and broaden our understanding of the world of psi abilities. And the unfortunate Kamidze will still get what he deserves!
