Twenty years from now the metropolis once known simply as Tokyo has become one of the world"s elite high‑tech hubs, now called Tokyo City. The story follows Ken Kanzaki, a young detective in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Metropolitan Police and one of its best marksmen. One afternoon Ken is tasked with guarding a gala hosted by the global plutocracy Zaizen Corporation.
Suddenly spectral robots erupt into the celebration, killing the company"s chief commander and leaving Ken and Jun—Zaizen"s son—gravely wounded. The event also injures two prominent guests: auto‑racing star Ryo Aguri and wrestler Go Goda. Scientists from the Metropolitan Police perform emergency surgeries on the three severely injured men.
A few days later a robotic syndicate, commanded by an enigmatic group called Ido, surfaces in the floating district of Tokyo Bay. Neither the police nor the army possess a viable countermeasure.
Then, clad in mechanized armor, Ken, Ryo and Go emerge. They have been transformed into cyborg investigators through the earlier operations and now call themselves the Armored Police Metal Jacks. Switching from Jack Suits to full Jack Armors, they obliterate the robotic faction and secure a decisive victory. This marks the start of a clash between high‑tech criminals and the Metal Jacks against the backdrop of futuristic Tokyo City.
