Ririchiyo Shirakiin is the protected daughter of a distinguished family. Petite and affluent, she has lived as a sheltered dependent all her life, yet she now resolves to alter that reality. The only hurdle is her sharp tongue and poor communication skills. Her sharp tongue often lands her in awkward situations, and she struggles to express herself clearly.
Supported by a childhood friend, Ririchiyo moves into Maison de Ayakashi, an isolated high‑security complex that the reclusive 15‑year‑old soon learns houses a variety of eccentric residents. Their odd personalities are not the only peculiarity: every tenant, including Ririchiyo, is actually a half‑human, half‑youkai. The half‑human, half‑youkai nature grants them unique abilities and also strange social challenges.
Ririchiyo"s challenges are just beginning. To stay in the new building, she must be paired with a Secret Service operative. Her new partner, Soushi Miketsukami, is attractive and quiet but excessively clingy and submissively eager. Soushi"s presence is meant to provide protection, yet his overly attentive demeanor often feels suffocating.
With Soushi, the strange neighbors, and the start of high school, Ririchiyo faces a daunting journey ahead. Together with her classmates, she must navigate both ordinary school life and the supernatural dynamics of the Maison.
