Yoko, a quiet sophomore in high school, possesses nothing—no family, interests, companions, or ambitions. One afternoon on her way home, she stops at a motor shop hoping to buy a scooter in the streets of her neighborhood, where scent of paint lingers. With just enough cash to survive, the price tags dishearten her and she prepares to leave. Yet as she is about to exit, the proprietor offers a used Honda Super Cub for ten thousand yen. Thinking it will light up her dull existence, she takes the offer. Riding through town on her new bike, Yoko encounters small escapades that forge priceless friendships and propels her toward a fresh chapter of life.
