Lucifer, an Archangel and former commander of the Seven Heavenly Virtues, was cast out of Heaven after rebelling against the Lord"s command. While falling through the heavens she is halted midway between Paradise and Perdition after smashing into a high‑school chapel roof. Maria Totsuka, a quiet student at the academy, witnesses her arrival, yet Lucifer swiftly resumes her plunge into Hell.
Soon after reaching the abyss, Lucifer is discovered by Leviathan, a would‑be Demon Lord and devoted admirer. Together they conspire to overthrow the Seven Sins—the ruling body of Hell led by Belial. But with their combined might, the Seven Sins repel Lucifer and bind her divine power by draping a Garb of Punishment over her, turning her into a Demon Lord.
Driven by vengeance and accompanied by Leviathan, Lucifer returns to Earth, forcing Maria to become her immortal servant. With this new ally, she embarks on a campaign to defeat the Seven Sins so she may break free from the curse of her Garb.
