While staying in Milishion's capital, the Dead End party members choose to part ways for a day of errands. Rudeus Greyrat's schedule is disrupted by an unexpected incident, leaving Eris Boreas Greyrat, the group's swordswoman, idle. Seeking purpose, she sets out to hunt goblins and meets a brash yet skilled mage called Cliff Grimoire. Eris declines his companionship, but Cliff defies her refusal and challenges her to venture into the dangerous woods around the city. Taking up his dare, Eris follows him through the forest, where they confront a threat far more unsettling than ordinary goblins. Their unexpected encounter forces them to rely on each other's skills and resolve for survival.
