Speculation that the Shinsengumi might be targeted by a fire attack on their headquarters has spread wildly. Since most of the chatter originates from a tavern in Shimabara, the group turns to Chizuru Yukimura for assistance. Disguised as a geisha, she slips into the tavern to supply information but soon realizes the scheme is far more complex than anticipated. Meanwhile, every member of the Shinsengumi harbors doubts about deploying their only female operative for espionage. Aware of the perils she faces, they all pledge to safeguard her at any price to uncover hidden motives and protect the integrity of their mission in the shadows of looming danger.
