The narrative unfolds in Paris, on the eve of France"s Revolution. Ordinary citizens endure oppression under the despotic reign of Louis XVI. To free them from misery, Simone—a young woman whose parents fell victim to the aristocracy—opts boldly to confront the corrupt nobles. She conceals her visage behind a crimson mask and plants a red carnation as a signature of defiance for the people. In this act, Simone becomes known as La Seine no Hoshi today.
