Conan was the sole child born on Remnant Island, a refuge established by survivors fleeing in the wake of a devastating surge of magnetic explosions that annihilated the majority of humanity. Two decades later, nearly all of those who had taken shelter have perished, leaving only Conan and the sagacious elder who raised him. Convinced that Remnant Island was Earth"s final bastion, Conan is stunned when a young girl named Lana washes ashore on a lonely beach one day. While he rejoices at the prospect of humanity"s survival, Lana explains that Industria seeks her as a hostage to compel her grandfather, Dr. Lao, to operate their engines. Their talk is abruptly interrupted in the quiet night when Industria"s chief aviator, Monsley, materializes and seizes Lana. Determined to rescue her, Conan departs immediately from Remnant Island, embarking on a quest that will ultimately decide the world"s destiny for generations.
