The action of the series unfolds in a not-too-distant future, where technology exists that allows instant measurement and assessment of a person"s personality and mental state. All the information obtained in this way is recorded and processed, and the term "psycho-pass" refers to a standard or norm against which a person"s condition is evaluated. In such a world lives and operates the main character Shinya Kogami, a police officer who deals with crime investigation.
