Ryouta Sakamoto, jobless and living with his mother, has only one real triumph: being Japan"s number‑one competitor in the hit online game Btooom!. His quiet existence is shattered when he wakes on a deserted island, clutching a tiny green crystal in his left hand and with no recollection of how he arrived. To his astonishment, a sinister plot has turned the virtual battle into a brutal reality where survival hinges on killing others.
Equipped with a pouch of special explosives called "BIM," contestants must eliminate seven opponents and seize their crystals to escape. Initially rejecting violence, Ryouta is compelled to fight when he discovers that many rivals are hostile rather than friendly. Joining forces with Himiko, another Btooom! enthusiast, they strive to leave the island together while uncovering the dark truth behind this deadly contest.
