In Doumori, a disturbance in the spiritual balance threatens to engulf the tiny town in utter turmoil. Luckily for the pupils of Doumori Elementary, the newly arrived teacher and exorcist Meisuke "Nube" Nueno vows to keep the malevolent spirits—called youkai—from carrying out their wicked plans. The first student who draws Nube"s focus is the transfer student Hiroshi Tateno, whose sudden fits of rage frequently lash out at classmates. When it is revealed that Hiroshi harbors a youkai, Nube frees him by tapping the demon‑bound power locked in his left hand. Yet a youkai masquerading as Dr. Kyousuke Tamano then swoops in and snatches Hiroshi away. With the aid of his student Kyouko Inaba and his occult knowledge, Nube swiftly uncovers Kyousuke"s treacherous scheme. Racing to rescue Hiroshi, he demonstrates again that he will spare no effort to shield his cherished students from every supernatural menace.
