When Takumi Miyasaka arrives at Astro Lodge to interview for the head chef role, he discovers a dilapidated boarding house instead of an upscale eatery. He had imagined a bustling kitchen, yet finds dusty corridors and worn furnishings. Though disappointed by the unexpected setting, Takumi showcases his culinary prowess, delighting the quirky residents. The most delighted is the lovely landlady, Mira Gotokuji, who becomes enchanted by his dishes. Conversely, Takumi develops feelings for Mira. He accepts the breakfast chef position at Astro Lodge and settles into Room 5.
Soon, Takumi observes oddities about Mira; she is utterly unfamiliar with modern gadgets and Japanese cuisine. Additionally, he hears an unfamiliar voice emanating from her room. Unbeknownst to him, Mira is actually an extraterrestrial who has just arrived from another world on a covert secret critical mission.
