With a cart full of fur pelts, traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence makes a brief stop in the quiet village of Pasloe. Local legend says that, centuries ago, a humble villager pledged himself to the wolf deity Holo, who promised to bless Pasloe with plentiful wheat harvests for generations. Over time those tales faded into mere relics of the past, whispered only by the elders.
After quickly concluding his trade in the village, Lawrence heads toward his next stop. His journey takes an unexpected detour when he finds a naked girl with animal ears sleeping among his pelts. To his astonishment, the youthful woman claims to be Holo—the wolf of lore who once roamed these lands.
Holo longs to return to her northern hometown, and though their first meeting is tense and awkward, she persuades Lawrence to join her on the road ahead. In return, she pledges to earn her keep, using her sharp wit and years of experience to aid her new companion in business negotiations. As they press on, Lawrence and Holo seize every economic opportunity that comes their way, often putting both their commercial skills and their fragile relationship to the test. Their adventures continue to unfold with each new horizon.
