Although he is the son of a renowned Federation commander, Hathaway Noa carries both the steadfast devotion of Amuro Ray and the militant zeal of Char Aznable. Tormented by memories of Char"s Rebellion, Hathaway heads his own dissident group called Mafty. Assuming the identity "Mafty Navue Erin," he carries out violent acts against the increasing oppression of the Federation.
After stopping a terrorist squad that illegally claimed to be Mafty from seizing an aircraft, Hathaway"s covert persona is uncovered by a young woman named Gigi Andalucia. He befriends both Gigi and Federation colonel Kenneth Sleg, yet his double life puts them at risk as the clash between Mafty and the Federation reaches its climax.
