In 1983, the Cold War raged on while humanity faced a new menace. Aliens dubbed BETA had landed on Earth with the intent to annihilate all life. Soldiers were assigned to pilot massive combat exosuits known as Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF) in an effort to push back the invaders, yet the front line steadily retreated toward the remaining cities. Schwarzesmarken chronicles the exploits of Second Lieutenant Theodor Eberbach and his 666th TSF squadron, a unit that places mission success above human life. Based in East Germany and commanded by war hero Captain Irisdina Bernhard, the squadron specializes in counter‑assault strikes against laser‑class BETA forces. However, the unit confronts a new threat when the hopeful rookie Katia Waldheim joins, attracting the scrutiny of East Germany's Stasi. Their struggle intertwines tactics with political intrigue, as the soldiers must navigate both alien assaults and oppressive surveillance to safeguard humanity's hope.
