The planet has been locked in a desperate, thirty‑year conflict with the BETA—an extraterrestrial force that breached Earth's borders in 1973. In the midst of this turmoil, a high‑schooler named Takeru Shirogane jolts awake from a chilling nightmare in which humanity lies shattered. He soon discovers that the dream was merely a glimpse of another life, one where the Alternative V initiative is underway: hundreds of thousands are sent into orbit to safeguard humanity, while the remaining billions on Earth face a grim destiny.
Determined to alter this bleak outcome, Takeru enlists at the Yokohama military installation that once housed his school. There he persuades the base"s deputy commander and mastermind of the Alternative IV effort, Professor Yuuko Kouzuki, to halt Alternative V. To guarantee the success of Alternative IV, Takeru must command the colossal humanoid mecha known as Tactical Surface Fighters (TSF) together with his fellow cadets. Yet he has only two months to finish training and leverage his fragmentary future knowledge—before the looming catastrophe unfolds.
