After clearing a demanding entrance exam, she reunites with her childhood confidante Rosetta, who is also studying there. Together they become part of Rosetta"s circle, which includes the spry Lavie, dependable Ashley, and scholarly Lynette—friends Tiara bonds with almost instantly.

Tiara"s cohort falls into the Lapis tier, and those who falter within that rank risk dismissal from the school.
