Veludo Way, a hub for countless street performances, draws crowds eager to witness professional theatre. When Izumi Tachibana receives a cryptic letter, she heads to the venue where her father once led the famed Mankai Company. There she discovers that the building is slated for demolition because of mounting debts. At the eleventh hour, Izumi persuades the debt collector to grant the troupe another shot. He agrees under three strict terms: their inaugural production must succeed by next month, the four all‑male sub‑units must be restored, and the debt cleared within a year. Additionally, Izumi must take on the role of director. The collector"s demand is unforgiving; he insists that the troupe must not only produce a flawless show but also prove they can draw audiences to recoup losses. He warns that failure will mean the theatre"s closure and a permanent loss of the historic venue.
With little time remaining, Izumi assembles a Spring Troupe of five: Sakuya Sakuma, an eager high‑schooler; Masumi Usui, a boy enamored with Izumi; Tsuzuru Minagi, an aspiring playwright; Itaru Chigasaki, a seasoned office worker; and Citron, a cheerful foreigner. Izumi"s selection process was frantic; she scoured the streets looking for raw talent. Sakuya"s boundless energy could light a stage, Masumi"s quiet devotion offered emotional depth, Tsuzuru"s sharp scripts promised originality, Itaru"s discipline ensured punctuality, and Citron"s multicultural perspective could broaden the troupe"s appeal.
