Rilakkuma is a plush bear who arrived one morning to reside with a young lady called Kaoru. It spends its hours relaxing throughout the flat. Even though there is a zip on its back, what lies inside remains unknown. Rilakkuma enjoys pancakes, rice omelettes, custard pudding and 'dango' rice dumplings. Its companions are Kaoru's feathered pet Kiiroitori and a tiny white bear cub named Korilakkuma who also appeared unexpectedly and gentle in the quiet kitchen.
