In the eastern precinct of Shinjuku lies Kabukichō, a bustling metropolis of pandemonium that radiates with neon brilliance while concealing unseen shadows. John H. Watson, employed at a university hospital on the western side, seeks an ally to tackle a peculiar case. His quest leads him to the Pipe Cat, an underground tavern that doubles as a gathering spot and bulletin board for Shinjuku"s finest sleuths, the most renowned among them being Sherlock Holmes.
After locating the establishment and meeting the idiosyncratic investigators, Watson learns they are pursuing a case tied to Jack the Ripper, the infamous serial killer. Circumstances force Watson to drive Holmes to a murder scene allegedly committed by Jack the Ripper. Though initially present only to enlist Holmes"s aid, Watson witnesses the detective brilliantly unravel the truth at the scene. He also realizes that Holmes is not only a prodigious investigator but also an eccentric personality.
As Watson repeatedly requests Holmes"s assistance, he becomes drawn into a detective lifestyle that transcends ordinary civilian thinking. Through this work, Watson begins to perceive the true hues of Kabukichō"s chaotic streets and gradually untangles the unsettling mystery surrounding his own case.
