Following a thrilling cultural festival, Shouko Komi keeps pursuing her goal of befriending one hundred classmates together with her friend Hitohito Tadano. When winter arrives, the class welcomes the apparently rebellious student Makoto Katai, who had been missing since the first week of school. Though his fierce look intimidates others, Katai struggles to communicate and simply desires friendship with the rest of the group. As fresh bonds develop and existing ones grow stronger, Komi"s and Tadano"s connection shifts—yet not in a negative way for all.
