Across most typical high schools, a swirl of tales and gossip circulates—some scandalous, some joyous, others eerily grim. One such rumor speaks of beasts haunting an abandoned estate beyond the town limits. These stories prove irresistible to Hiroshi and his companions Mika, Takeshi, and Takurou, who resolve to confront the alleged perils as a test of bravery. Each steps toward the ruin with heavy dread, and upon entering they encounter a blue creature called Ao Oni that launches an attack, and the darkness feels alive. The night air is thick with silence, and every creak seems to echo their heartbeat.
While the quartet attempts to crack puzzles inside and flee from their new blue foe, they repeatedly stumble into grim conclusions as failures mount.
