Little deities called Cocotama arise from the emotions and thoughts that people attach to cherished objects. The fact that they don a fragment of their own shell as clothing shows they are still novices. These beings wield enigmatic sorcery, training diligently to aid people and ascend to full divinity. They reside within households, slipping unseen to assist humans in locating lost items by guiding them gently toward the right place, but occasionally misdirecting their path and learning from each misstep daily with patience and humility.
