College student Haruko Mihashi volunteers as a nurse delivering home care to seniors. Yet when her patient, Kijuro Takazawa, is abruptly removed to become the inaugural occupant of a Z‑001 bed, she feels uneasy. Though the device"s technology is remarkable—automatically addressing every need—it lacks the empathy that human attendants offer. Haruko"s anxiety deepens after she receives a digital plea for assistance. Determined to intervene, she and her companions slip into Takazawa"s room, uncovering that the Z‑001"s computer possesses capabilities far beyond their expectations. Their discovery sparks a plan to override the system, hoping to restore human touch and protect future patients from becoming data points.
