In the quiet hamlet of Hinamizawa, Rika Furude and her companions coexist in a semblance of tranquility. Yet beneath this veneer lies a concealed gloom that Rika knows intimately. During this endless summer, she has witnessed unimaginable terrors. Each time the hourglass turns, Rika must hunt for the perpetrator of these senseless killings before calamity repeats itself. Yet attempting to solve a puzzle with only half the evidence repeatedly ends in failure, and whenever she hopes for change, she inevitably falters. As the yearly celebration nears, Rika slides from optimism to desolation while fighting to sever the fate‑binding shackles that bind them all.
