Kujo Jotaro is a typical, well‑known Japanese high‑school student until he believes he has been taken over by a spirit and confines himself to a cell. After encountering his great‑grandfather Joseph Joestar and battling Joseph"s ally Muhammad Abdul, Jotaro discovers that the "Spirit" is in fact Star Platinum, his Stand, a semi‑solid manifestation of combat power. Subsequently, his mother acquires a Stand and falls ill. Jotaro realizes this stems from the resurrection of vampire Dio Brando one century after his defeat by Jonathan Joestar, Jotaro"s great‑great‑grandfather. He resolves to travel with Joseph and Abdul to Egypt to vanquish Dio once more for good forever.
