Every few decades, the Wild Hunt—a band of mounted fae knights—awakens and traverses the realm, its presence causing ancient foliage to decay while fresh growth replaces it. When lightning strikes the stone shrine where the Wild Hunt slumbers, a piece bearing the pack"s guide is shattered. Consequently, when the Hunt rises again, its members cannot hold their ranks; they drift aimlessly through woodlands, leaving death in their trail.
To fix this crisis, Spriggan assigns Elias Ainsworth the task of retrieving the guide"s missing steed for its owner. Meanwhile, Gabriel, a wheezy boy craving adventure, stumbles upon the broken stone and summons the knight inside. With only a single memory left—his longing to return—the guide must reunite with his mount and companions before his absence causes irrevocable harm. Should the guide fail, the forest will wither permanently and countless lives will be lost, and the realm will crumble forever.
