Yuusuke Yotsuya has long harbored a deep dislike for Tokyo, especially detesting the people who call it home. He would rather thrive in a virtual realm than struggle to coexist with those around him. One ordinary school day, he spots the celebrated athlete Iu Shindou chatting with Kusue Hakozaki, a student who misses classes because of illness. When he looks away and then back again, the pair seem to vanish into thin air.
Moments later, Yotsuya is thrown into free‑fall as the world around him distorts. He lands in a vast pool of water, and upon regaining consciousness his first sight is a horde of gigantic monsters. Each creature presents a distinct challenge, from towering leviathans to swift serpentine beasts. The quest demands they gather rare artifacts scattered across the landscape, each guarded by a formidable foe.
He soon learns that Shindou and Hakozaki have dragged him into a video‑game universe, demanding he complete the mission within fourteen days. What sets this realm apart from reality is that any death results in a 30‑second revival, as long as at least one party member remains alive. Faced with a series of increasingly difficult quests, Yotsuya, Shindou, and Hakozaki set out to unravel the mystery behind this perplexing game world.
