When ordinary office worker Yoshida awakes on a Sunday after a prolonged night out, the most unexpected sight is that his cramped flat now hosts an unfamiliar high‑school student in the morning he finds her standing outside.
Earlier that evening, Yoshida gathered the courage to confess his feelings to his superior and longtime admirer, Airi Gotou, only to be turned down. He then went back to the bar with his friend Hashimoto to drown his disappointment, arriving home in a haze. There he stumbled upon Sayu Ogiwara, a girl seeking shelter. She begged him to let her stay the night, and because his judgment was clouded by alcohol, Yoshida agreed.
When he mind the next morning, Yoshida asked Sayu to explain how she ended up staying in apartment. She told him her family had fallen on times and that Hokkaido was too far for a return. Hearing her tale, Yoshida felt compassion; he realized that refusing her would be cruel. Despite the legal worries about housing a minor, he decided to keep her home and their life began.
