Kikyo Private Academy, an all‑girls school famed for its illustrious past, stands in stark contrast to the notorious Chidori Public High School, known for its unruly, simple‑minded students. The pupils of these two institutions inevitably clash because of their divergent upbringings.
Rintarou Tsumugi, a Chidori student with towering height and an intimidating look, is usually shunned even though he possesses a kind heart. While assisting at his family"s patisserie, he encounters a patron who flees after a fleeting exchange. The following day, the same woman returns to apologize and introduces herself as the bright‑spirited Kaoruko Waguri.
Spending time with Kaoruko reveals that she sees beyond Rintarou"s exterior, and he grows eager for their next meeting. Yet when Rintarou learns that Kaoruko is a student at Kikyo, their budding bond faces the weight of societal expectations and entrenched school rivalries.
