During the Tanabata celebrations, Shidou Itsuka stumbles upon the enigmatic Kurumi Tokisaki, who unexpectedly asks him out for a date. Though nervous, Shidou accepts the invitation. The pair spend the afternoon touring a planetarium, sampling festival foods, trying their hand at a mock wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, Shirou"s friends—Tooka Yatogami, Yoshino, and Kotori Itsuka—search for him while also enjoying the fireworks and lanterns of the festival. The air is filled with music and the scent of delicacies.
As Shidou spends time with Kurumi, he begins to notice an unforeseen gentle side. He knows she is notorious as the "Worst Spirit," yet the woman before him radiates kindness and warmth. By the time night falls, Shirou finally starts to understand the truth behind all this mystery.
