Five perilous 'seeds' were pilfered from their stronghold in the realm of Evergreen and transported to Earth. Natsuki, a royal operative, has been dispatched to recover them. Yet he cannot accomplish this solo and summons Chihaya, a junior high pupil, who is 'the sole individual' capable of assisting. With his support she morphs into the Magical Warrior Carmine to rescue people enslaved by the seeds. Many mysteries linger, including why Chihaya's mother seems to know everything about this covert mission, why she recalls her father who supposedly perished before she was born, and why she envisions Evergreen—a place she's never visited, and the hidden truths that bind the fates together forever.
