The series is adapted from a 1999 radio play that follows three distinct girls—Akari, Yuki and Nozomi—as they attend a concert by the top pop star Reika. The experience profoundly shapes their futures. Akari grew up in a deeply religious household, is bright and upbeat, and idolizes Reika. Yuki left her family in Hakodate to become independent; she now works behind the scenes at Reika"s show. Nozomi, a daughter of a wealthy Kobe family, secures a VIP seat for the event. Captivated by Reika"s performance, all three decide to enroll at Akiba Music Academy and pursue careers as pop idols.
