Never before in a school anime has there been such a cheerful and close‑knit all‑girl company. Ten‑year‑old genius Tiyo‑chan is a little miracle with braids. Beauty Sakaki‑san has the figure of a supermodel and an unrequited love for all the nearby cats. Sharp‑eyed top student Yomi loses her composure (regularly) for only two reasons: first, the scale readings; second, the pranks of her best friend, hyperactive Tomo. Athlete Kagura is ready to support any endeavor. And last but not least, the unique thinker Ayumu, nicknamed "Osaka," is simply unmatched in anime. Their mentors and senior friends are played by two young teachers – the "Englishwoman" Yukari, who is often called "Yukari‑chan," and the physical‑education teacher Minamo, who kept her student nickname "Nyamo." The plot of the series describes the lives and adventures of the heroines over all three years of high school – from admission to graduation. It seems like an ordinary routine – classes and exams, holidays and vacations, walks and evening gatherings, cultural and sports festivals, school excursions – but they are presented with such inexhaustible imagination and original humor that "Adzumanga," as the title suggests, is rightly considered the queen of the school genre.
