After seven years, Saku Ooyagi returns to his hometown and quickly reunites with childhood friend Mihoshi Akeno. Their meeting is not joyful, as their only shared memory is her falling from a tree and his rescue. Nonetheless, Mihoshi resolves to strengthen their bond and compels Saku to join the astronomy club she established in their old school town during the summer evenings and starlit nights.
